Many of the classic game for kids are becoming less and less popular. The reason for this is that most kids prefer video games and hard to do something else today. However, there are thousands of traditional games for boys and girls. Just think back to your childhood, what were your favorite games?

Here are some examples:

1 Chess
Chess is a very old game that, after thousands of years, is still very popular. This is a game of strategy, planning and critical thinking. It forces us to develop all these skills and it is still fun to play. And it is also a great game for kids. Success in chess correlate with such important skills such as mathematics or spatial analysis.

2 Monopoly
Monopoly is another very popular game. It is less serious than chess, and easier to play, but there is also some skills developed. Children learn at a very fundamental level, how to manage money. They make an important experience that money will run out, which can be very valuable lesson in our modern consumer society.

3 Risk
The last game I want to mention here is the risk. Risk is a classic board-game in which players must move armies through different countries and must meet various missions. They must plan accordingly and can learn something about probability. Risk is often regarded as a very interesting game and has the potential to fill a whole evening, and probably the easiest solution to get your kids with PlayStation.
